Teddy Boy
January 10, 2016
The day I first saw you, you’re incredibly small and
vulnerable. You didn’t had a name by then, if I’m not wrong, Terence was the
one that name you Teddy and you loved that name.
I remember how you were all excited and running around when
you saw us, you’re not my dog but we spend a lot time together as you only
stayed above me. On the days when your house is empty, you’ll be at my place
running about wanting snacks from us.
You kept my grandma and grandpa accompanied. Soon, when
grandpa passed you’re the loyal accompany my grandma have. You somehow
understand Chinese or the Hokkien when she tries to communicate with you. You
made her time passed easily when we are all busy studying and growing up.
I remember how you used to love us hiding and shout your
name, so you could try to find us. You used to love catching but once you catch
the ball, you refused to hand it over. Until we have to steal it from you.
Haha.
On certain weekends, you came down earlier and your mission
always seems to be waking us all up. You’ll jump and walk around me like nobody
business until I woke up.
You hate how I carry you and start swinging you, but I love
it. Haha. I love to kick your small butt and you’ll just ignore me. As you
aged, you stopped running around so much. You seem to be nonchalant to your
surroundings but you still loved it when we rubbed your tummy.
Teddy is also afraid of everything and anything that moves,
except humans. Haha.
Months ago, we found out that your lungs have water and
there’s no cure to it. Medication for you is only to slow down the process. You
coughed almost everynight and could barely get some sleep. Then, you passed one
night (5th Jan 2016, 2:55am)… just 11 more days away to turning into
11 years old.
I know for sure, you’re in a better place without all the
sufferings. Teddy, you’ve been an amazing dog and everyone just loves you so
much. Thank you for being part of my life.
